The NAMES Project relocates to Atlanta, GA.
In March of 2001, the National NAMES Project Foundation relocated
The AIDS Memorial Quilt to its new headquarters in Atlanta, GA
and the organizations to a new office in Washington, D.C.
Vector was honored with the responsibility to transport the
over 44,000 irreplaceable colorful panels and their offices and
The Names Project Foundation's Executive Director, Andy Ilves,
to their new homes in Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, D.C.
The San Francisco International Airports, San Francisco,
CA
In November and December of 2000, Vector was contracted to move
various Government offices and inspection stations from the Old
San Francisco International Terminal into the New International
Terminal. The agencies relocated to the new terminal were the
USDA- United States Department of Agriculture, The United States
Customs, United States Customs Office of Investigations, and
the INS- Immigration and Naturalization.

San Francisco Public Library
Vector had the honor of moving the San Francisco Main Library's,
at time 79 year-old, controversial, CARD CATALOG, with over 3
million cards in 2,520 carved drawers.
We disassembled; relocated and reassembled the 20,000 linear
feel of Montel High Density File System, the largest of it's
kind in the Bay Area. The high-density system was moved from
the Old Main Library to it's new home in the Underground basement
of Brooks Hall.
Vector also coordinated and packed up over 300,000 pounds of
books that were taken across country to The United States Book
Exchange, Cleveland, OH for redistribution to Third World readers.

GSA - Federal Building, Oakland, CA
In 1985 the General Services Administration began planning
for a new Federal Building and Courthouse to be build in Oakland,
CA. After over seven years of design and construction the building
was completed in early 1993. Today it now contains over 1,000,000
square feet of office space, housing 16 separate Federal agencies.
This represents the largest single building to be constructed
in Northern California since 1968 and the largest ever in Oakland.
Vector was the selected as the primary mover of over 2,500 employees,
from over a dozen Federal Agencies. Through the summer of 1993
Vector consistently performed in a superior manner. Whether moving
2,500 file cabinets in a single weekend for the Veterans Administration
or gathering 1,200 employees for the Internal Revenue Service
from three locations in two separate cities, the record was 100%
on time, as agreed.
No other "mover" has completed a project like this
with as high a degree of Customer Satisfaction. The Vector team
believes the success of this project was a direct result of preparation
and training prior to the actual move dates.

SECURITY
Security has always been a big concern of The Federal Government.
Vector has done relocations work for the General Services Administration
and the numerous Agencies of the Federal Government for years.
We have worked in very secured environments required complete
background clearances and environments needing fulltime escorts.
Agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Department
of Drug Enforcement, The United States Mint, The Internal Revenue
Service, US Customs, Department of Defense, Department of Energy,
Immigration and Naturalization, Departments of the Health and
Human Services, among a few, all have their specific security
needs that we have met.
In this day of high security alerts, Vector is well aware and
prepared for unusual security demands. |
